If your question is really “is my skillet ruined?” or a specific recipe problem, a cast-iron cookware forum or the pan manufacturer’s own care guide will usually serve you faster and better than this site can: IronHearth provides general-purpose calculators and explanations, not a diagnosis of your specific pan, and it isn’t affiliated with any cookware manufacturer.

Before writing in about a tool result, it’s worth double-checking the numbers you entered — the wrong pan diameter, a mixed-up unit, or a mistyped value is the most common source of a surprising answer. If it still looks off after that, that’s exactly the kind of message worth sending.
